Bob Dylan - Masters of War
Bob Dylan has stated that this song is not really an anti-war song, that it is supposed to be a pacifistic song against war. Which can kind of be a bit confusing, but if you think about it, what could one really say to another who is in a position, where their choices dictates the lives many others? Screaming and cursing doesn’t really faze them, calling them war criminals etc, makes them laugh. They know they are not going to get prosecuted. But, if one can reach another, with the promise of torment beyond their control, it can mess with a person. What can you really say to another whose actions are beyond demonic? You let them know that their legacy, their destruction and mayhem will one day, however long it takes, be cleansed. Happy Halloween!
